The 2000s
With the dawn of the New Millennium, the 24,000 sq. ft. expansion and 26,000 sq. ft. remodeling of the Broan-NuTone Headquarters in Hartford was celebrated in September of 2001. And, the following July, the 70th Anniversary of Broan-NuTone was highlighted during a community-wide Open House that featured exhaust fans coming off a production line every 5.25 seconds and a range hood every 7.5 seconds.
Local expansion was quickly followed with global expansion. In 2004, Broan-NuTone (HK) LTD was established in Hong Kong to support global procurement efforts. The next year, 2005, Broan Building Products (Huizhou) Co., Ltd. was established in China and began manufacturing ceiling fans, bath fan upgrade kits, bulb heaters, decorative fan lights and 660 series fans. In 2006, Best Poland was built and in operation in less than one year producing economy range hoods for the European market.
Expansion continued in the U.S. with the acquisition of the Hartcraft building for relocation of the Display Department and
continued implementation of the new Warehouse System; and the acquisition of Zephyr, a high-end kitchen ventilation company located in San Francisco for increased market penetration.
While physical sites were expanding, so were product offerings with over 1,000 new products being introduced from 2003 to 2007 and a first ever fan commercial airing on HGTV, Discovery Home and DIY cable channels.
Today, Broan-NuTone LLC continues to maintain its headquarters in Hartford, Wis. and employs 3,246 people in eight countries on three continents. Other plant and office locations include Ohio, Texas, Illinois, California, Canada, Italy, France, Germany, Poland, China and Mexico.
